Grace L. Erdmann
102, Marathon, died Monday, January 6, 2003 at Kennedy Park Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
She was born August 18, 1900 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late August and Anna (Hanke) Hoffmann. On September 29, 1923, she married Leo Erdmann in the town of Rib Falls. He preceded her in death January 3, 1966.
Grace was an avid gardener, growing both flowers and vegetables. She took a great amount of pride in sharing her flowers with her friends. Grace also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, tatting and embroidery. She also loved to sing and polka dance, and was able to do so yet at her 90th birthday party. She possessed a beautiful sense of humor. For over 21 years until the age of 87, she worked at the Rib River Ballroom waiting on tables for weddings and social functions.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois Becker, Wausau; four granddaughters, Judy (Tom) Mueller, Sandy (Wayne) Tepe, Debbie (Bryan) Walus and Lori (William) Maher; ten great grandchildren, Jenny Mueller, Jim Mueller, Jeremy (Megan) Tepe, Jason (Debi) Tepe, Matthew Tepe, Molly Tepe, Chris Link, Tim Link, Morgan Maher, Aaron Maher; one daughter-in-law, Pat Erdmann.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Erdmann and two sisters, Laura Sabatke and Ella Bedyneck and an infant brother and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
