Glenn C. Young of Three Lakes, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2013, surrounded by loving family. He was born December 22, 1929 in Woodstock, Illinois, the youngest of seven children. He excelled in many sports and continued his love of football at Purdue University, in the U.S. Navy and with the Green Bay Packers and Calgary Stampeders. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and later enjoyed a long career teaching and coaching. He was always an exemplary role model for his two children and four grandsons and an inspiration to those that were fortunate to have known him. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his deep faith in God which saw him through many adversities. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy (Downing), son Craig (Mary), daughter Cindy (Ward) and grandsons Sam, Shane, Jack and Ben. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations preferred to Make-a-Wish foundation or Our Savior Lutheran Church, Eagle River, Wisconsin. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
