Glenn H. Rogers
71, Rothschild, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care, Wausau Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1931 in Cook County, Illinois, son of the late Albert and Eleanor (Pruessner) Rogers. On June 28, 1975, he married Kathleen Disbrow in Wausau. She survives.
Glenn was a watchmaker for Lohmar Jewelry Store, Wausau until he purchased the store and was the owner/operator of the Rogers Jewelry until the time of his retirement. He was a past member of the Rotary Club, Highwood, Illinois, the Masonic Temple and the Elks Lodge #248, both of Wausau and the Gideon International. He was also a member of New Hope Community Church, town of Easton. Among his favorite things to do were golfing, fishing, playing pool and relaxing at his cottage. He also enjoyed exercising and walking with his friends and his faithful dog, Dolly.
Besides his wife, Kathleen, he was survived by four daughters, Dale (Randall) Ricklefs, Taylor, Texas, Carol (Alan) Harris, Morton Grove, Illinois, Nora Rogers, Wausau and Katherine Rogers, Rothschild; big brother to, John Knaup, Wausau; three grandchildren, Reyhan Ricklefs and Stephanie and Jill Harris; one brother Thomas (Lynn) Rogers, Temecula, Calif., one sister, Lois (Herb) Barke, Orange, Calif.; many beloved nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law; his mother-in-law.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Blomgren.
The funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2003 at New Hope Community Church, town of Easton. Rev. Larry Ten Haken will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may sent to the New Hope Missions, E1045 S. Hwy J, Wausau, WI 54403.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Biswas, Dr. Rausch, and Dr. Madagame, the staff and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit at the Wausau Hospital for their loving care given to Glenn during his stay.
