Glenda Lepak
70, Marathon, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 surrounded by her loving family after a year long courageous battle with cancer.
Glenda was born July 28, 1938 in Illinois, daughter of Lee and Betty Hicks. She attended grade school and high school in Milwaukee. On October 5, 1957 she and Marlin Lepak were married at Sacred Heart Parish in the town of Cassel.
The couple made their home in South Milwaukee where Glenda raised a family, was a stay at home mom and then worked at various department stores. She went to technical school where she learned to become a key punch operator. She was employed at First Wisconsin Bank in downtown Milwaukee. The Lepaks moved to Marathon in June 1972 where they farmed and raised ginseng.
After retirement, Glenda worked at Mills Fleet Farm for seven years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, going to the casino, spending time at the cottage on Lake Nokomis and was an avid Packers fan. She truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Glenda would have become a first time great grandmother in August, 2009.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Marlin; she was the cherished mother of Dawn (Tim) Wadzinski, Marathon, Roger (Jan) Lepak, Marathon, Gail (Jeff) Lensmire, Worthington, Ohio and Bonnie (Drew) Hessedal, Antigo; loving grandmother of Shelley (James Harrison) Wadzinski, St. Francis, Jackie (Gus) Schmoll, New Franken, Richard (Kimberly Baur) Wadzinski, Marathon, Andy Wadzinski, Whitewater, Nick Wadzinski, Marathon, Matt Wadzinski, Marathon, Felicia Lepak, Weston and Grace Lensmire, Worthington, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Gary (Lindsey) Sulzer, Mosinee, Andy Sulzer, Milwaukee, Rick (fiance' Sara Workman) Sulzer, Mosinee and Tim (Amanda Nelson) Sulzer, Mosinee; sister-in-law, Doris Hicks, Finlayson, Minn. , and many other relatives and friends. She will be sadly and greatly missed.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Hicks.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 -8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Private burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cassel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
