Gladys M. Karasek
Wausau, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, Wis.
She was born in Menominee, Mich., daughter of the late Frank and Rosanna (Gallineau) Kohel. On October 23, 1943, she married James Karasek in Savannah, Ga. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.
Gladys was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was involved in many church activities. She was a member of the St. Matthew Circle of Joy and was a volunteer for Fun Days, Holly Hall and the hot lunch program. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed reading and gardening.
Survivors include, six children, Todd Karasek, Jeffrey Karasek, James (Connie) Karasek, Scott Karasek, Judy (Chuck) Scheihing and Kay (Wayne) Visentin; three grandchildren, David (Pamela) Karasek, Holly (Jay) Schiek and Kris Scheihing; three great grandchildren, Chloe' and Caeli Karasek and Aren Schiek.
Besides her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Karasek; and one brother, Loren Kohel.
The funeral mass was celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn presided. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, Mich.
