Gladys C. Busko-Baumann

Gladys C. Busko-Baumann 72, Marathon, died Saturday February 16, 2008 at her home. She was born September 23, 1935, in Marathon, daughter of the late Raymond Sr. and Mary T. (Wiesner) Hornung. On August 13, 1951, she married Elroy "Sonny" Busko in Marathon. He preceded her in death August 27, 1997. She married Don Baumann on September 23, 2000 in Marathon. He survives. Gladys was a homemaker and among her favorite things to do were, fishing, gardening, sewing and playing sheepshead. Spending time with her grandchildren was special to her. Survivors include her husband, Don Baumann, Marathon, seven children, Lynn (Mike) Tessmer, Aniwa, Joe (Deb) Busko, Marathon, Jeanne (Jim) Seliger, Park Falls, Jackie (Gary Kwarciany) Busko, Weston, Mike Busko, Palmetto, Fla., Jim (Diane) Busko, Rothschild, Lisa (Jeff Landowski) Busko, Schofield, 26 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, five step-children, Ronald Baumann, Edgar, Karen (Jimmy) Taylor, Mosinee, Donna Baumann, Edgar, Kathy Baumann, Wausau, Mike (Dawn) Baumann, Marathon, eight step grandchildren, siblings, Rev. Eugene Hornung, Minocqua, Arlene (Edwin) Volhard, Marathon, Caroline (Arnold) Skrypchak, Neshkoro, Ellen (Jerry) Goetsch, Rothschild, Richard (Joyce) Hornung, Marathon. Besides her parents, and husband Elroy, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori, a daughter-in-law, Mona Busko, three grandchildren, Jennifer Reisner, Tara Ament and Kimberly Busko, two brothers, Gordon and Ray Hornung Jr. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Eugene Hornung and Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
