Gertrude F. Reiche

Gertrude F. Reiche 96, Wausau, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Harmony Terrace Court, Wausau. She was born March 10, 1914, in town of Stettin, daughter of the late John and Emma (Hilmershausen) Artus. On November 19, 1938 she married Leonard Reiche at Rib Falls Methodist Church, Rib Falls. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1977. Gertrude was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking and most of all time spent with her beloved grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Delphine (James) Gierl, Minocqua, Diann Dircz, North Fort Meyers, Flor., Doreen (Dale) Carr, Wausau and Donna (Gerald) Egner, Auburndale; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Artus, Marathon and Wallace (Elaine) Artus, Wausau; sister-in-law, Marvel Artus, Edgar. Besides her parents and husband, Leonard she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Delores (Orville) Held, sons-in-law, Allen Krebs and Martin Dircz, grandchild, Jocile Gierl, brother, James Artus, three sisters, Florence Artus, Alice (Leslie) Baumann and Alma (Elmer) Semerau, and sister-in-law, Leila Artus. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Richard Russow will officiate. Burial will be in the Rib Falls Methodist Cemetery, Rib Falls. Friends may call Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau , is in charge of arrangements.
