Gertrude F. Peroutka

Gertrude F. Peroutka 92, 1240 Merrill Avenue, Wausau, died Monday, August 20, 2001 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. Gertrude was born April 17, 1909 in Wausau, daughter of the late George and Anna (Stipek) Ronek. She married Querin Peroutka June 28, 1927 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death July 31, 1957. Gertrude was a homemaker and loved knitting, crocheting and sewing, baking, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and the Fatima Council at the Church of St. Anne. Survivors include 2 daughters, Rosemary (Glen) Ahles, Neenah and Margaret "Peggy" (Lenard) Detert, Colorado Springs, Col., 2 sons, William (Mary) Peroutka, Janesville, and Jack (Vicki) Peroutka, Wausau, 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Margaret Vachowiak, Neenah. Besides her husband, Querin Peroutka, and parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by 1 son, 2 daughters, 2 grandsons, 1 great-grandchild, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2001 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the 6th Street funeral home.
