Gertrude Fochs-Will

Gertrude Fochs-Will 83, Round Rock, Tex., formerly of Wausau, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at her daughter's home in Round Rock, under the care of Hospice of Austin, Texas. Gertrude, or "Kitty" as she was known, was born October 21, 1923 in Cedar Grove, Wis., daughter of the late August and Marie (Pollack) Wenzel. She married Roman Fochs on August 31, 1946, he preceded her in death on January 9, 1993. She later married Ted Will on October 2, 2003, he preceded her in death on December 20, 2005. Gertrude served in the United States Army during World War II as a medical technologist. Throughout her life, she contined working as a medical technologist for Memorial Hospital, Wausau, St. Mary's Hospital, Wausau and the Marathon County Blood Bank. Among her many interests, she enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her pets. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling across the United States in her motor home. Survivors include five children, Carol Anderson, Round Rock, Tex., Marlene Borth, Phoenix, Ariz., Debra Fochs, Schofield, Bruce Fochs, Schofield and Jeff Fochs; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Wenzel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Wausau. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau.
