Gerraine F. Sturm

Gerraine F. Sturm, 89, Wausau, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her home. She was born February 14, 1926 in Little Chicago, daughter of the late Leo and Louise (Pruss) Brandt. On October 1, 1949 she married LeRoy Sturm at St. Peter Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2009. Gerraine worked at Wisconsin Valley Trust Company until 1950 followed by several years at Lemke Cheese and she retired from Prange Way in 1983. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts for the Talent Shop in Wausau, baking and canning, she was especially known for her pickles. Gerraine took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens and did a lot of camping and traveling with her husband before he passed away. She also enjoyed bird watching and listening to music, especially Polkas. Above all she cherished the time spent with her family and they will always remember her contagious smile and her kind, generous heart. She will truly be missed by all. Survivors include her two children, Sandra (Jeff) Wolf, Kronenwetter and Terry (Anne) Sturm, Rib Mountain; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Wolf, Kronenwetter, Shanna (Chris Schickel) Wolf, Madison and Eric (Michelle) Sturm, Onalaska; one brother, Lavern (Delores) Brandt, Schofield; many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. Besides her parents and husband, LeRoy, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clamont Brandt and a sister, Dorothy Kufahl. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Erik Olson will officiate. Entombment will in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
