Geraldine "Gerrie" R. Reynolds, 92, Rib Mountain, earned her wings as an angel on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Aspirus Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 20, 1921 in Wausau, daughter of the late Adolph and Leona (Wagner) Christianson.
Due to the Great Depression, Gerrie learned early in life to make the best with what you have and this is how she lived her life. She was a graduate of Wausau High School. On April 15, 1939, she married John E. Reynolds in Wausau and together, raised seven children. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2004.
Gerrie was a fun loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed collecting angels, playing cards and traveling to California to visit her brother and sister.
Survivors include, four children, Marlene Hitz, Weston, Susan Weller, Rib Mountain, Rosemary (Mark) Bever, Schofield and Michael Reynolds, Wausau; one son-in-law, Ole Albertson, Neosho, Wis.; one sister, Rosemary Howell, Sacramento, Cal.; nine grandchildren, Sherri Hitz, Kim (Bob) Seehafer, Kevin Reynolds, Lisa (Steve) Michaels, Dawn Weller, Debbie (Jim) Buck, Ron Weller Jr., Jennifer (Jim) Clairmore and David Bever; 17 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa and Aaron Seehafer, Cody Panek, Dakota Albertson, Steven, Brad and Sahara Michaels, Ron Weller III, Michael and Molly Weller, Carson and Jenna Buck, Tabitha Ziebell, Tyler Clairmore and Kyan and Madison Bever; two great-great grandchildren, Skylar and Hunter; her loving companion dog, "Shy", long-time friend Mrs. Heil and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by three children, Mary Lou Albertson and Larry and David Reynolds; three grandchildren, Johnnie Hitz, Alfred Albertson III and Michelle Albertson; one great-grandson, Dredon Bever; and two brothers, Sheldon and Alvin Christianson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Thomas Huff will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
