Geraldine Radtke

Geraldine Radtke 86, Wausau, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 12, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Mary Glover. On August 2, 1947 she married William Radtke at St. Mary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2003. Geraldine volunteered at Marywood Center for over 25 years and was a teacher's aide at St. Anne School for over 40 years. She enjoyed knitting, computers, playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and watching the Green Bay Packers. Some of her other memberships included the Red Hat Society, the Fatima Council and the VFW Auxiliary. Geraldine was proud that a member of her family has served our country in each war since World War I. Survivors include her sons, Colonel William (Bonnie) Radtke, Memphis, Tennessee, Robert (Ana Lisa) Radtke, Seoul, Korea, Bruce (Melissa) Radtke, Dubuque, Iowa and Lieutenant Colonel Mark (Lorraine) Radtke, Fredrick, Maryland; grandchildren, Andrew Radtke, Memphis, Tennessee, Alyssa Radtke, Oxford, Mississippi, Kristiana Radtke, Seoul, Korea, Nathaniel White, Denver, Colorado, Staff Sergeant Jason Keen, Minot, North Dakota, Corey White, Cedar Falls, Iowa; brother-in-law, James Radtke, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, and again on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
