Gerald E. Schulz
72, 915 S. 8th Avenue., Wausau, died Sunday, May 2, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer in Palliative Care at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born May 3, 1931 in the town of Rib Falls, son of the late Edwin and Leona (Brunner) Schulz. On June 22, 1957 he was united in marriage to Gladys Barnish at St. Michael Catholic Church. She survives.
Gerald worked for the former Marmet Corporation for 43 years in the purchasing department. He was co-founder of the Robin Hood Archers and was a former member of the Rib Mountain Bowmen. Gerald was an avid sportsman and enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing. Special to Gerald was watching football, NASCAR racing, trips up north with his longtime friends and sitting back and listening to country music. Most of all, Gerald will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather and a good friend to all who knew him.
Gerald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors besides his wife Gladys, Wausau, include his children, Carol (Bill) Stannard, Denver, Colo., Brian (Cheryl) Schulz and Barbara Woller, all of Wausau, Keith Schulz, Green Bay, Karen (Bill) Carr and Kathy (Lorin) Dugger, both of Queen Creek, Ariz., 14 grandchildren, his siblings, Donna (Kenneth) Andreske, Emily Schmidt, Ronald (Diane) Schulz, Glenn (Rosemary) Schulz and Leon (JoAnn) Schulz.
Besides his parents Gerald was preceded in death by one brother, David Schulz.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
