Gerald J. Schepp

Gerald J. "Jerry" Schepp 78, Wausau, died Saturday August 16, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born May 29, 1930, in Wausau, son of the late Walter and Mabel (Seefeldt) Schepp. On November 1, 1952, he married Rosella Johnson in Wausau. She survives. Jerry proudly served his country in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg and was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. For many years, he was the manager of Fullerton Lumber Company and later had been employed with Stone's Building Center. He was a lifelong member of the Wausau Area Builder's Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Wausau Labor Temple. Among his favorite things to do were gardening, hunting, fishing and golf. Family was very important to Jerry and he appreciated the special times spent together. He was a loving husband to, Rosella Schepp, Wausau, a devoted father to his three children, Jamie (Tom) Landwehr, Julie (Mark) Allar and Allen (Julie) Schepp, all of Wausau. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher, Chad (Stacey), Heather, Nicole (Ryan), Brent, Jennifer (Mike), Tara and two great grandsons, Caleb and Austin, two brothers, Myron "Hunce" Schepp, Tomahawk and Eugene (June) Schepp, Key West, Fla. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Jr. and Roger Schepp. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 21, 2008 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. John W. Meachen will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion. Friends may call on Weds. From 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
