Gerald T. Lapointe

Gerald T. "Jerry" LaPointe, 91, Rothschild, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born November 6, 1921 in Denver, Colorado, son of the late Alcide and Cecile (Roy) LaPointe. On October 12, 1942 he married Marcelline Prosser in Salinas, California. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2001. Jerry was a flight service specialist at the Wausau Airport from 1950 until his retirement in 1979. Some of his favorite pastimes included boating, photography, camping, antique cars and passing along his knowledge of all types of airplanes to anyone interested in listening. Jerry proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1945 during World War II. Survivors include his children, Jerry (Toni) LaPointe, Homer Glen, Illinois, James "Mike" (Sharon) LaPointe, Tomahawk, Thomas (Betsey) LaPointe, Weston, Ann (Bruce) Isakson and Denise (Ed) Moses, both of Wausau and Christopher (Deb Linger) LaPointe, Largo, Florida, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry J. (Marian) Prosser, Illinois and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be held at Noon, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, Wausau. The Rev. David Klutterman will officiate. Burial will be in Bay National Pines Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jerry's name. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau in charge of arrangements.
