Gerald E. Heindl

Gerald E. Heindl, 91, of Madison, formerly of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at All Saints Neighborhood Assisted Living, under the care of Agrace Hospice Care.

He was born on March 30, 1934 in Marathon to the late Joseph and Florence (Milbeck) Heindl. Gerald was united in marriage to Rita Vogedes on June 8, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve. Gerald worked for Foremost Farms in management for a career that spanned 32 years and also raised ginseng for over 10 years. In his spare time Gerald enjoyed and cheered for local and professional sports including baseball, softball, golf, and basketball.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of Madison; children, Jeffrey (Kim) Heindl of Egg Harbor, Mark (John Lynch) Heindl of Madison, Mike (Jill) Heindl of Shorewood, Kathy (Richard) Marx of Tampa, Florida, and Mary (Randy) Mullen of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Brien (Tasha) Heindl, Leslie (Eric) Hansen, Amy Mullen, Max (Megan) Mullen, Marcus (Amanda) Mullen, Madison Heindl, Nicholas (Casey) Marx, Shanna (Jamie) Larochelle, and Cole Roloff; siblings, Dorothy (Allan) Roerig, Nancy (Jim) Brouchoud, and Jay (Bonnie) Heindl; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence Heindl; and brothers, Patrick and Joseph Heindl.

Mass will be offered at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon, to pray for the eternal rest and peace for Gerald. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
