Gerald W. Hartkopf

Gerald W. Hartkopf 76, Rothschild, died Sunday March 2, 2008 at his home. He was born August 14, 1931, in Wausau, son of the late Walter and Mildred Hartkopf. On April 27, 1957, he married Ruth Midlikowski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death in 1990. He married Arlene Walloch on September 14, 1991 at the Thomas Street Baptist Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Gerald had been employed with Schuette Wausau Metals, Marathon Battery and had also been a projector operator at the Grand Theatre. He was co owner of the former Angel of the Glen Care Center, Kronenwetter. He enjoyed sports of all types, especially watching the Brewers, Packers, Cubs and Braves. In the past, Gerald had been involved with the Wausau Men's Bowling League. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela M. Hartkopf, Rothschild, Shirley (Kim) Younger, Mosinee, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a step son, Glenn Younger, Rothschild. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday March 7, 2008 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
