Georgene M. Hasko-Lang
83, Marathon, died Thursday April 22, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born September 23, 1926, in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Raymond and Genevieve (Volhard) Wadzinski. On September 29, 1945, she married John P. Hasko. After retirement Georgene and John found great enjoyment spending their winters in Ruskin, Florida and their summers in Wisconsin. This is a tradition that continued with Georgene and Charlie even as late as this year.
Among her involvements through the years, Georgene was a member of the Catholic Knights Insurance Fraternity, was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliaries and also served as president of the Gold Star Mothers. She took part in many church events, sponsored children in need and was always willing to help anyone who was down and out. She will be remembered as a gracious hostess and fabulous entertainer whose door was always open. Throughout the different stages of life Georgene enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling and traveling with her special safety man, "George".
