George L. Weigand
82, R5547 Hwy 97, Athens, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Medford Memorial Nursing Home.
He was born December 14, 1922 in the town of Johnson, son of the late George and Katherine (Burger) Weigand. On September 14, 1946, he married Audrey Luedtke on the town of Hamburg. She survives.
George was one of the owners of the Wagon Well Drilling and farmed in the town of Reitbrock until the time of his retirement. Along with his wife, he enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Spirit Lake. He was a member of the Spirit Lake Improvement Association and very active in the Senior Citizen Card Club.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Weigand, Athens; one daughter, Marlene (Rodney) Bergmann, Medford; two sons, Eugene Weigand, Mount Holly, New Jersey and Gerald Weigand, Spirit Lake; three grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Miller and one brother, Lawrence Weigand.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in the Athens Village Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and again from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services all at the Athens funeral home.
