George P. Lang, 82, 814 North 10th Avenue, Wausau, died Monday, December 16, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
George was born December 6, 1920, in the Town of Cassel, son of the late Andrew and Anna (Foch) Lang. He married Hildegard Seliger on June 2, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
George spent much of his time in his flower garden, or making birdhouses and watching or listening to baseball, especially the Brewers. He often enjoyed several games at once. Most of all he loved his "girls", his wife and six daughters, and of course his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Hildegard, Wausau, he is survived by six daughters, Georgine (Tom) Reynolds, Louisiana, Sandra (Tito) Babl, Schofield, Virginia Fox, Madison, Joyce (James) Balliet, Milwaukee, Lynn (Dan) Donham, Texas, Charlotte (Alan) Berens, Tomahawk; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Adeline Schuster, Wausau, Arlene (Al) White, California, Angeline (Raymond) Rajek, Marathon; three brothers, Alfred Lang, Chippewa Falls, Rudy (Gertrude) Lang, Marshfield, Luke (Dolores) Lang, Marathon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2002 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Edgar. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
