George R. Kraeuche, 82, 5407 West Wausau Avenue, Wausua died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at his home.
George was born July 27, 1920 in Ashippen, son of the late Gottfried and Bertha (Feller) Kraeuche. He married Verna Tomczak, November 11, 1944 in Weyerhaeuser. She survives.
George was a dairy farmer. He was proud to have served his country in the US Army during WWII. Fishing, hunting, gardening, reading and woodworking were among his favorite things to do.
Besides his wife, Verna he is survived by nine daughters, Betty Stiefel, DePere, Jane (Louis) Olson, Hartford, Dianne Burczyk, Port Washington, Judy (Harold) Beise, Blairsville, Georgia, Susan Kuester, Wausau, Karen Kraeuche, Blaine, Minnesota, Mary Ann Kraeuche, Chippewa Falls, Barbara Kraeuche, Weston, Laurie Zastrow, Boise, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Gnerlich, Mayville, Katchen Wellington, Snohomish, Washington.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Kraeuche.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2002 at St. Matthew Catholic Chuch, Wausau. Enurnment will be at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to the Heart Institute at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
