George R. Jablonski
78, town of Wausau, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1927 in Wausau, son of the late John and Laura (Seefeldt) Jablonski. On October 29, 1952, he married Uldene "Tootie" Grosskreutz at St. John Catholic Church in Edgar. She survives.
George served in the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II from 1945-1947. He was a steamfitter for over 40 years, working his way up to Superintendent. He spent many years working for Azco Inc. and retired from his trade in 1989.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards and horseshoes, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Wausau American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388 and Local Union # 400 for 50 years.
Survivors include, his wife, Uldene "Tootie" Jablonski, town of Wausau; six children, Fortune (John) Jacobs, Wausau, Lynn (Mike Alft) Stieber, Rib Mountain, Steven (Linda) Jablonski, Wausau, James (Cleo Zagaceta) Jablonski, Baldwin, Wis., Kevin (Kimberly) Jablonski, St. Charles, Ill. and Kathryn (Brian) Krenz, Beaver Dam; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Sylvia (Elroy) Trantow, Wausau and Mary Ann (Jerome) Rader, Schofield.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service Friday 4:30 p.m. at the Sixth Street Funeral Home.
