He was born March 22, 1919, In Park River (Town of Golden, North Dakota), the son of the late Mathias and Georgiana (Denoyer) Dahm. On February 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Virginia Horky in Clintonville, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2011. George was a U. S. Army veteran (Captain) serving during World War II in the 107th Quartermaster Battalion stationed in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He retired from the National Guard on March 22, 1979 after 38 years of military service. George worked as a Manager in the trucking industry at Spector Freight prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, feeding the birds, tending his beautiful flower garden, and "skunking" his kids in cribbage. George was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. George had an excellent work ethic that he instilled in all of his children. George's family admires his devotion to Virginia during their 65 years of marriage, especially during her struggles with Alzheimer's. He always put Virginia's needs above his own.
