Genevieve V. Delonay

Genevieve V. Delonay 87, Wausau, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born June 8, 1924 in Wausau, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Machyniak. On July 7, 1948 she married Harold Delonay in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1993. Genevieve worked at Marathon Electric before moving to Milwaukee where she worked at Briggs & Stratton prior to retiring. She enjoyed going on trips with her husband Herald and was a member of the Catholic Society of Foresters and prayed the rosary every day. Survivors include a very special god-daughter, Dorothy Nikolai, Wausau; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hrdina, Medford, Beatrice Pittsley, Marshfield, Virginia Hammerding, Schofield and Carol Delonay, Florida; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by a brother, James "Clifford" Machyniak and sisters, Dorothy Machyniak and Mary Jane Nikolai. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
