GENEVIEVE M. BUSCHE
82, Formerly of South Mountain Road, Wausau, died Friday, October 5, 2001 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
Genevieve was born December 15, 1918 in Stratford, daughter of the late Edward and Regina (Adams) Meyer. She married Harold F. Busche April 7, 1945 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death January 6, 1993.
Genevieve graduated from Stratford High School, attended Marathon County Normal School for two years and took University Extension courses. She then taught for six years in rural Marathon County schools.
Genevieve served as secretary of Holy Name of Jesus Parish Council and St. Catherine council. She was also coordinator of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Teachers for ten years, served on the Diocesan C.C.D. Board, was a member of Ministry of Praise and Resurrection Choir at Holy Name Church.
Genevieve and Harold enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Phillips and at the "Lodge" in Spirit Falls. They were also avid gardeners and enjoyed square dancing with the Merry-Eights.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Richard) Petzold, Wausau and Joan Smith, Green Bay, three granddaughters, Ricarda (Craig) Edelburg, Wausau, Tara Smith and Carmen Smith, two great-grand-daughters, Indi Edelburg and Kira Smith, brothers and sisters, Alice Steiner, Stratford, Raymond Meyer, Wausau, Esther Emerick, Brookfield, Cora (Larry) Socha, Neenah, Beatrice Radenz, Wausau, Mae (Gerald) Allain, Schofield, and Edward (Sharon) Meyer, Wausau, one sister-in-law, Bernie Meyer, Rothschild.
Besides her husband, Harold and her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Szekeress, and one brother, Leon Meyer.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2001 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Anthony Dichoso will preside. Entombment will be in Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus.
