Gene A. Gajewski, 51, 2078 Highway XX, Mosinee, died Friday, January 3, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Gene was born in Marshfield, on November 13, 1951, son of Maryann (Faulks) Gajewski, Mosinee and the late Alois Gajewski. He married Barbara Lucas on December 5, 1970, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. She survives.
Gene was a bricklayer. He enjoyed hunting, spending time fishing with his family at their cabin, and emailing family and friends. Gene could fix most anything and made excellent salsa. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, Barbara, Mosinee, and his mother, Maryann, Marathon, he is survived by two daughters, Tina Gajewski, Mosinee and Terri (Brian Haupt) Gajewski, Hatley; six sisters, Joyce (Bob) Ostrowski, Mosinee, Janet (Lee) Gajewski, Mosinee, Judy (Brian) Pempek, Athens, Carol (Scott) Gast, Schofield, Joann (John) Fink, Wausau, Laurie (Lee) Zarling, Wausau; one brother, Rick Gajewski, Athens; special friends, Forest Martens, Mosinee, Eugene Enkers, Hatley, Diane Waldinger, Mosinee; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Allan L. Slowiak will preside. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
