Gary Mueller

Gary (Herm) Mueller, of Wausau passed away on August 12, 2015 at Aspirus Hospice House with his loving family surrounding him. He was the son of Arthur and Geraldine (Holleran) Mueller, they preceded him in death. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Mary (Budreau), sons, Todd (Lisa) and Garth (Darlene Penrose) and grandson, Tyler. Gary was a man of many talents and interests. He was well known for his sense of humor which he never lost throughout his long battle with respiratory disease. If every laugh he gave was a star in the sky it would be much brighter. He was an avid sportsman truly enjoying every moment he was in the woods and on the water. While he loved this time it was not only the hunting and fishing but also spending time with family and friends that gave him pleasure. Gary was a talented athlete both on a baseball field and on the ice. He won many MVP awards for his pitching. He was also a very good hockey player, beginning in the mid 1950's when he played for the City of Wausau in the Wisconsin State League. Traveling was another of his interests and he enjoyed many trips from Alaska down to the Panama Canal. Whether it was cruises, motor coaches or airplanes he enjoyed them all. We want to sincerely thank all of the special "prayer angels". Your prayers helped make the journey easier and the time we had with Gary longer. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Matthew School Gymnasium, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the school gymnasium. There will be a prayer service Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew's Catholic Church in memory of Gary.
