Gary James Brusky
62, Edgar, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born October 9, 1947 in Wausau, son of the late Aloys and Louise (Kostka) Brusky. On June 6, 1970, he married Jacqueline Sonnentag at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She survives.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of the Athens High School and was a veteran of the United States Airforce and the National Guard. For many years, he worked for Marathon Mail Services as a truck driver until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed carpentry work, being in the woods amongst nature and wildlife, hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping with his wife, Jacqueline. He was also an avid sports fan, loved listening to music, especially from the 1950"s and 1960"s, but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife of 40 years, Jacqueline (nee Sonnentag) Brusky, Edgar; seven children, Matthew Brusky, Weston, Nikole Brusky, Edgar, Louise (Justin) Knetter, Edgar, Darrell (finacee Danielle Bergs) Brusky, Wausau, Lillianne Brusky, Edgar, Cassandra Brusky, Marathon and Mika Brusky, Edgar; five grandchildren, Erica Brusky, Cole Lake, Maria Freese, Aydin Borgh, Jorja Knetter and a baby boy and a baby girl on the way; nine siblings, Ronald Brusky, Wausau, Daniel (Carol) Brusky, Omro, David (Kathleen) Brusky, Janesville, Michael (Joanne) Brusky, Stratford, Aloys Jr. (Janice) Brusky, Dorchester, Randall (Julie) Brusky, Edgar, Karen Stewart, Gypsum, Colo., Rosalie Brusky, Waukesha and Lisa Brusky, Las Vegas; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Janice (Leo) Michlig, Marathon, Julian (Gloria) Sonnentag, Weston, James (Mary) Sonnentag, Brokaw, Jerry (Colleen) Sonnentag, Glasgow, Ky., Jean (Thomas) Burke, Edgar and Jolyn (Terry) Miller, Owen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew, Jeremiah Brusky; and one sister-in-law, Claire Brusky.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10187, Edgar. Family and friends may call Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
