Gail M. Schwartz

Gail M. Schwartz, 62, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was currently a resident at Care Partners of Weston She was born May 11, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Dean and Pearl (Cherek) Schwartz. For many years Gail was a travel agent for Westmont Travel in Illinois. She loved to travel as much as she could and two of her favorite destinations to visit were Disneyland and Branson, Missouri. Gail was an active participant in the Special Olympics, most recently in 2012 she won two Gold Medals in Track and Field in Stevens Point and also participated in the Special Olympics Bowling at Dales Weston Lanes. Gail loved to attend local festivals and concerts throughout her life. She enjoyed playing games and doing activities with fellow residents at the assisted living facility. She also liked doing needlework, creating many Christmas items as gifts for family and friends. Survivors include her cousins, James (Mary Kay) DeBroux, Mosinee, Kay (Steven) Halder, Verona, James Cherek, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Godson, Jon DeBroux, Milwaukee and other relatives and friends. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will preside. Entombment will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Clarendon Hills Mausoleum, Darien, Illinois. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mosinee High School Concert Choir.
