Freida Hoefs

Freida (nee Schmidt) Hoefs 89, formerly of the Landmark Building, 221 Scott Street, Wausau, died Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born September 5, 1915 in Sisseton, SD, daughter of the late Leo and Olga (Peter) Schmidt. She grew up in the Stratford area, then Edgar before moving to Wausau. Freida was a homemaker and worked for Weyerhauser Corp. in Marshfield. She enjoyed many things, especially helping people in need. Survivors include, four children, Harvey (Connie) Hoefs, Earl (Vivian) Haefs, Doris (Than) Win and Donalee (Michael) Fischoff; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, William (Mary) Schmidt, Albert (Liz) Schmidt and George Schmidt; and two sisters-in-law, Bess and Ruth Schmidt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna; and two brothers, Melvin and Edwin Schmidt. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the Mausoleum.
