Frederick ''Fritz'' Osterbrink

Frederick "Fritz" Osterbrink Frederick J. Osterbrink, 88, died on December 26, 2001. He came to New Hampshire in 1998 to be close to a daughter. He was born in Mattoon, WI in 1913 to Aurora Belanger and Ignatius Osterbrink. He lived most of his adult life in the Chicago area as an Escoffier graduate and successful chef, having owned the Loyola CafAC. there for a time. Fritz was a Guadalcanal Veteran, serving in WWII from 1941 -1945, returning with malaria. He leaves his wife, Mary Barbara Osterbrink of Asheville, N.C. and three children, James Osterbrink of Wilmington, IL, Mary Ann Osterbrink of Hillsboro, N.H. and Paula (Osterbrink) Shain of Thousand Oaks, CA; four grandchildren, Jody Osterbrink, Nolan and Eileen Shea, and Sarah A. Shain and one great granddaughter, Kelly Osterbrink. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again from 9:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the funeral home. Donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association of Greater New Hampshire, 10 Ferry St., Concord, New Hampshire.
