Frank J. Wisnewski

Frank J. Wisnewski 97, R5083 Aspen Road, Edgar died Saturday, January 20, 2007 surrounded by his loving family at the home of his son Ralph. He was born September 14, 1909 in Milwaukee, son of the late Michael and Stella (Steinke) Wisnewski. On June 24, 1940 he married Salomea "Sally" Miller at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. She preceded him in death on December 5, 1988. In earlier years Frank logged with his father in the Athens area and also in upper Michigan. He also did road construction with a team of horses on the original highway 29. Soon after marriage to Sally they bought a farm in the town of Rietbrock and farmed there for almost 40 years before retiring. Some of Frank's favorite pastimes included watching Packer games, card playing and enjoying the company of his family but nothing brought a bigger smile to his face when there were small chores to do around the farm to keep him busy. Survivors include his son Ralph (Christine) Wisnewski, Edgar, one granddaughter, Kathryn Wisnewski, Edgar, one brother, Raymond (Lucille) Wisnewski, Wausau, four sisters, Therese (Don) Green, Madison, Marg (Lester) Haaker, Red Wing, Minn., Lillian (Bob) Wojciechowski, Wausau and Sylvia Jarog, Illinois along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wisnewski, one daughter, Mary Kay Wisnewski, one brother, Alex Wisnewski and three sisters, Eleanore Booker, Lucille Wisnewski and Jospehine Wadzinski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Rev. Charles Hiebl and Deacon LeRoy Knauf will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
