Frank W. Stubinski

Frank W. Stubinski 89, formerly of Marathon, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. He was born November 4, 1917 in Marathon, son of the late Thomas E. and Rose (Kocik) Stubinski. On October 24, 1953 he married Katherine Busko in Wausau. She preceded him in death on November 24, 1977. In 1987 he then married Irene Sondelski in Knowlton. She survives. Frank was a dairy farmer in the Marathon area for over 40 years. Throughout the years Frank was notorious for being known to always lend a helping hand to his neighbors, family and friends when anyone needed something fixed or repaired. Above all Frank found his second calling in life when he built and operated his own sawmill, doing custom work for anyone who needed it done. Whenever he found a little spare time he enjoyed walking in the forty, making maple syrup and going deer hunting. In his last two years, he enjoyed getting to know his great-grandson Michael. Survivors include his wife Irene Stubinski, Mosinee, his children, Linda Kaye (Don Buchberger) Pauza, Wausau, Julie (Rick) Block, Green Bay, two grandchildren, Kita (Mike Thomsen) Busko and Aliza Block, one great grandson, Michael John Thomsen, five step children, Christine (John) Kopp, Hawkins, Ray (Tammy) Sondelski, Mosinee, Bernadette Peterson, Lake Mills, Diane (Mike) Lytle, Morgantown , Ind. and Debra Kish, Carmel, Ind., nine step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one brother, Benedict Stubinski, two sisters, Alice Krause and Cecelia Schara, all of Wausau. Besides his parents and his first wife, Katherine he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas, John, Martin and Joseph Stubinski, and Verna Koons and Lottie Bychinski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
