Frank C. Radtke, Jr.
61, Marathon, died Monday, October 11, 2004, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born October 29, 1942, in Merrill, son of the late Frank, Sr. and Selma (Langhoff) Radtke. On August 23, 1976, he married Patricia Coushman in Mosinee. She survives.
Frank was a veteran of the US Marines serving during the Vietnam War. He was a bleacher for Weyerhaeuser, Rothschild for 30 years, retiring on October 29, 2003. Frank enjoyed making maple syrup, making firewood, doing crossword puzzles and being outdoors.
Besides his wife, Patricia, Marathon, survivors includes two daughters, Sandra (James) Semore, Hillsboro, Ore. and Cynthia (Donald) Hassel, Rothschild; three sons, David (Lori) Zielazowski, Merrill, William (Pamela) Zielazowski, San Jose, Calif. and Daniel Zielazowski, Weston; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; one sister, Eunice Radtke, Merrill; brother-in-law, Donald Valiska, Mosinee and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Valiska.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2004, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. Friday until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. Full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #8733, Mosinee, immediately following the service.
