Frank Nowak
86, Wausau, died peacefully, Sunday May 2, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born October 3, 1917 in Poland, son of the late John and Anella Nowak. On November 11, 1953 he married Anna Moskal in Poland. She survives.
Through persistance, hard work and sacrifice, Frank was able to provide a better life for his family after leaving his native homeland in 1960 and relocating in America. For 25 years he had been employed at Wausau Steel until the time of his retirement. Among his favorite things to do were fishing and gardening, especially tending his rose bushes, apple trees and plum trees. His Polish heritage was important to him, and he enjoyed dancing the Polish Hop and singing in the Polish Choir at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Nowak, Wausau, three sons, Stan (Susan) Nowak, Mosinee, John (Luann) Nowak, Wausau, Joe (Jolene) Nowak, Mosinee, grandchildren, Amy, Ann and Amanda;step-grandchildren, Moriah and Beth and Step-great-granddaughter, Courtney.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Thursday May 6, 2004 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
