Frank Brodziski

Frank Brodziski 78, Athens, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at his home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. He was born October 24, 1930 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Anton and Helen (Feltzkowski) Brodziski. On August 17, 1957, he married Mary Sazama at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. She survives. Frank was a veteran of the United States Airforce, serving from 1952-1956. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrew J. Sutter Post No. 8527, Athens. Following his military service, Frank worked at Marathon Electric, Wausau for two years and then settled back on the family farm, where he enjoyed farming until his retirement. Among his many interests, he loved spending time with his family, enjoyed traveling and was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Brodziski, Athens; seven children, Tom Brodziski, Mondovi, Hugh Brodziski, Athens, Mark (Sandra) Brodziski, Stevens Point, Kevin (Debra) Brodziski, Antigo, Paul (Sheila) Brodziski, Stillwater, Minn., Ann Brodziski, Wausau and Lori (Richard) Daul, Athens; eight grandchildren, Laura and Rebecca Brodziski, Johnathon, James and Jarrett Daul, Sara (Michael) Worth, Andrya and Jillian Kramer; three great grandchildren, Alexandra, Jordyn and Olivia; one sister, Marian (Perry) Larson, Schofield; four brothers, Edward (Grace) Brodjeski, Ukiah, Cal., Anthony (Ruth) Brodjeski, Kenosha, Michael Brodjeski, Solon Springs, Wis. and Steven (Gloria) Brodziski, Athens; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Brodjeski, Wausau and Darlene Brodjeski, Kenosha; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alex, Clement and Ben. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Rev. Charles Hiebl and Deacon Leroy Knauf will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrew J. Sutter Post No. 8527, Athens. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski or the ALS Association.
