Frank R. Biesel, 78, Wausau, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on January 24, 1948, in Milwaukee, son of the late retired Army Captain Erwin C. and Dorothy (Ehrhardt) Biesel-Wescott.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for Bravery and he also served in Germany in the Army. He was a proud member of the VFW, Wausau serving as a past commander.
Following his time spent in the Army Frank worked at Harley Davidson in Milwaukee and later went on to do custodial work at the D.C. Everest School District. Some of his favorite pastimes included riding his Harley and being a member of the local HOG Chapter and the Geezer Club.
Survivors include his siblings, Robert Biesel, Stoughton, Jerry Biesel, Florida, John Biesel, Wausau and Susan Biesel, Wausau as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by a beloved stepsister, Donna Sylvester, Milwaukee and Karen Hackey, Marshfield.
Frank’s celebration of life will start with doors opening at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026 at the2026, Clubhouse, 212 E. Randolph Street, Wausau. A short prayer service will be held followed by words from friends and family. Lunch will follow starting at 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at that time Frank’s ashes will be taken to Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau for burial. Full military honors will be conducted Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at the VFW Clubhouse, 212 E. Randolph Street, Wausau.
