Frank A. Bembenek

Frank A. Bembenek, 78, 919 So. 22nd Place, Wausau, died Thursday, February 12, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born October 20, 1925 in Bevent, son of the late Adam Jr. and Martha (Wanta) Bembenek. On October 26, 1953 he married Agnes Wierzba at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. She survives. Frank retired in 1988 from Hartwig Manufacturing Corporation and prior to that worked for Crestline for several years. He enjoyed the many hunting and fishing trips he took out west with his nephews and was a woodworker and "jack-of-all trades". He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court No. 498 and the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Steel Union Local No. 811. Survivors besides his wife Agnes Bembenek, Wausau include four brothers, Ervin (Theresa) Bembenek, Joseph (Marie) Bembenek, Daniel (Ann) Bembenek, all of Milwaukee, Wallace (Joyce) Bembenek, Pewaukee; four sisters, Pauline Wanserski, Wausau, Evelyn Laurich and Grace (Edward) Albrent, both of Milwaukee, Esther Ostrowski, Hatley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Bembenek and one sister, Della Zakoski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2004 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in the Holy Angels Mausoleum, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a combined parish and Catholic Order of Foresters rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. Pallbearers will be Don, Joseph and David Wanserski, Mike and Clifford Bembenek and Paul Gottschalk.
