Francis L. Susor, 90, Wausau, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born June 19, 1927 in Wausau, son of the late Albert and Pearl (Wurster) Susor. On September 24, 1955, he married Lois Koehler at the First Methodist Church in Wausau.
Francis was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing and was an aviation enthusiast. He had a lifelong love of flying and volunteered many hours at the Wausau Airport, where he made many friends. Francis was involved with the EEA, loved aviation history and also did research for a friend who wrote a book on flying.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 62 years, Lois Susor, Wausau; two children, Carolyn Susor, Phoenix, AZ and Loran (Valarie) Susor, Minocqua; one grandson, Ben Susor, Minocqua; one sister, Bette (Eugene) Brandenburg, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Imm; and two brothers, Burt and Robert Susor.
No services will be held. Private burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
