Frances M. Poverski

Frances M. Poverski 83, Wausau, died Friday September 5, 2008 at Mount View Care Center under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born September 3, 1925 in Wausau, daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Jesse) Kurtzweil. On May 18, 1946, she married George Poverski in Wausau. He preceded her in death August 23, 1998. Prior to her retirement, Frances had been employed for a number of years with Radiology Associates, Wausau. She was a longtime active member of the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Survivors include three children, Jan (Connor) Evans, Eau Claire, David (Mary) Poverski, Wausau and Jayne (Jerry) Christensen, Eau Claire, three grandchildren, Lisa (Matt) Chmura, Dousman, Chad Poverski, Marinette and Chris Poverski, Las Vegas, three great grandchildren, Jake and Samantha Chmura and Zackary Poverski, her siblings, Kenneth (Colleen) Kurtzweil, Tomahawk, Roger Kurtzweil, Wausau, Patricia (Richard) Bauer, Phoenix and Nancy Ott, Scottsdale. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvester Kurtzweil, Marjorie Shebelski, Eunice Fosmore, Wilbur Kurtzweil and Doris Torzewski and a granddaughter-in-law, Sarah, wife of Chris Poverski. Private funeral services were held at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice officiated. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anne Parish or the Alzheimers Association.
