Frances M. Orlikowski
88, 135 S. Gibson St. Medford, formerly of Athens, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Medford.
She was born September 27, 1915 in Poniatowski, daughter of the late John and Hedwig (Sczygleski) Sekorski. Frances attended Poniatowski Grade School. She married Walter Orlikowski, Sr. on October 4, 1941 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He preceded her in death May 16, 1970.
Frances was a homemaker all her life. Besides cooking and baking, she loved to plant a big garden. Her greatest joy was when she could give family, friends and neighbors, vegetables from her garden. Frances was a very religious person and attended mass when ever possible. She was a resident of Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Medford since October 6, 1998.
Survivors include two sons, Walter "Wally" Orlikowski, Jr. and Joseph "Paul" Orlikowski both of Athens, two sisters, Elizabeth Krause, Edgar and Dorothy Paul, Wausau; three brothers, John (Pearl) Sekorski and Paul Sekorski all of Wausau and Daniel (Dorothy) Sekorski, Sherwood.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four infant children, two boys, Bobby and Jimmy Michael and two girls, Adeline and Theresa; three sisters, Josephine, Anna & Clara; one brother, Alex.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:30 p.m. parish rosary services Friday evening at the Athens funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens.
Wally and Paul would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Walther Meyer, the CNA's and the nurses that took such great care of their mother for the past 5-A½ years. Her two sons and her friends will dearly miss her.
