Frances H. Lemmer

Frances H. Lemmer 91, formerly of Marathon, died Thursday December 22, 2005 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born April 24, 1914 in the town of Marathon, daughter of the late Herman and Frances (Blume) Hornung. On September 27, 1932, she married Aloys Lemmer in Marathon. He preceded her in death September 10, 1986. Frances was a homemaker and worked along with her husband on their farm in the town of Marathon until retiring in 1977. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Neighborhood Homemakers Club. Survivors include three daughters, Doris (Conrad) Heil, Rib Mountain, Marlene Handrick, Wausau and Barbara (Robert) Murkowski, Edgar, five sons, Norman (Mary Ann) Lemmer, Marathon, James (Karla) Lemmer, Athens, Ronald (Angeline) Lemmer, Wausau, George Lemmer, Ringle, Marvin (Jan) Lemmer, Marathon, 35 grandchildren, 53 great- grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, two sisters Nora Hall, Wausau and Laura Nest, Marathon. Besides her husband and parents Frances was preceded in death by two grandsons, two sisters, Erna Baumann and Amanda Kurtzweil, and three brothers Raymond, Herman and Ludwig Hornung. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 26, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is in charge of arrangements.
