Frances King, 99, Weston, died Thursday April 6, 2017 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born October 24, 1917, in Ringle, daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Glodowski) Landowski. On November 4, 1936, she married Henry King at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Callon. He preceded her in death December 12, 1985.
Frances was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church and made many desserts for various church functions. Cooking and baking were an art form for Frances and she was famous in her family for her white cookies, apple slices and rhubarb desserts. Another specialty was her chicken soup with homemade noodles. She treasured the time spent at family get togethers. Frances was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rose.
Survivors include her children, Rose Marie Stanke, Minocqua, Martin (Elaine) King, Ringle, Alfred (Diane) King, Hatley, Clarence (Patricia) King, Mt. Prospect, Ill., Claudia (Robert) Vollmert, Weston, a daughter-in-law, Judy King, Schofield; grandchildren, Dale (Kay) King, Dwayne (Connie) King, Brenda (Steve) Buffington, Kevin (Jill) King, Todd (Hope) King, James (Lynn) King, Carla (friend, Mike) King, Julianne King, Jessica (Jon) Trautman, Michael (Tara) Vollmert, Jason (fiancAC., Krystle) King, 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Landowski, Milwaukee, Sylvester (Shirley) Landowski, Ringle, Kleofash (JoAnn) Landowski, Antigo, adopted sister, Marie Breitenstein, sister-in-law, Johanna Landowski, brother-in-law, Ernest Dallman, sisters-in-law, Delores Wojciechowski, Frances Johnson and brother-in-law, Bernard King.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, a son-in-law, Eugene Stanke, brothers, Edward, Joseph and Ludwig Landowski and sisters, Wanda, Agnes, Leona, Isabelle, Elizabeth and Natalie.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday April 10, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Louis Britto will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the church.
