Florian J. Wisniewski

Florian J."PeeWee" Wisniewski 79, Wausau, died Tuesday December 9, 2008 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. He was born January 6, 1929 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Frank and Mary (Laska) Wisniewski. On May 26, 1951, he married Lucille Seubert at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force. In 1994 Florian retired from the Weyerhaeuser Paper Corporation after 40 A½ years of service. Golfing and hunting were some of Florian's favorite pastimes but wood carving was a longtime passion for him and he entered many National and International wood carving shows, taking first place on the National level and second place Internationally. He was a member of the Wausau Elk's Lodge #248 and the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Wisniewski, Wausau, one daughter, Bonnie (Marc) Daniels, Wausau, two sons, Lonn (Teri) Wisniewski, Weston and Lee Wisniewski, Wausau, seven grandchildren, Tammy (Roger) Elliott, Jada (Greg) Taylor, Jesse (Sarah) Daniels, Shannon Daniels, Amanda (Shaun) Rindt and Rebecca and Lewis Wisniewski, four great grandchildren, Sean and Chloe Elliott, Kaia Taylor and Addie Neumann, his siblings, Irene Landowski, Sturgeon Bay, Joan Wood, Pat Wisniewski and Dolores Wisniewski, all of Wausau, Germaine (Eldred) Zimmerman, West Des Moines, Iowa and Chester Wisniewski, Wausau along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Alice Leutenegger. The funeral mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
