Florian M. Pergolski
91, Wausau, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Harmony Living Center, Wausau.
He was born April 27, 1915 in Wausau, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Kuharski) Pergolski. On August 21, 1940 he married Emmeline Baranowski in Hatley. She preceded him in death November 3, 1997.
Florian was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Burma with Unit 706 Engineers during World War II.Being very proud of his years in the Army he was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post no. 388, Wausau. Gardening and reading were other hobbies he enjoyed.
Survivors include his sister, Irene Lang, Wausau and all those he held dear, including nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Mary, two brothers, Stanley and Daniel Pergolski; two sisters, Alice Wiemann and Margaret Pergolski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Daniel Hackel will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by members of the VFW Post 388. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
