Florence Mary Zimick

Florence M. Zimick, 88, Wausau, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Wausau Manor Nursing Home. Florence was born June 18, 1914, in Wausau, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Dahl) Boerke. She married Raymond A. Zimick on May 26, 1934 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. He preceded her in death February 23, 1987. Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of the Y.W.C.A., Tops Club, P.T.A., and various area square dancing clubs. She was active in many union activities for her husband, Ray's Carpenters' and Electricians Unions. Florence enjoyed crafts and most of all loved her time living up north. Survivors include two sons, Leon (Sally) Zimick, Rothschild, Patrick (Nanci) Zimick, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Judith (Gordon) Fries, Kronenwetter; Ilene (Neil) Sorenson, Seattle, Washington; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Ray, and her parents she was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Private family services will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of the arrangements.
