Florence A. Tucker

Florence A. Tucker 85, Wausau, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 14, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Hirsch) Britten. On October 9, 1948 she married Donald V. Tucker in Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1996. Florence was a founding member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a member of St. Bernard Circle. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and bird watching. For many years she was on a bowling league and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include her children, Mary (Ron) Retzak, Sturgeon Bay, Debra (Mark) Braaten, Junction City, Kansas, Jim (Mary) Tucker, Patty Tucker, both of Wausau and Rick (Jeanine) Tucker, Mosinee; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother, Dick (Joan) Britten, Thiensville, sister, Marge Sippl, Santa Monica, California and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mount View Care Center, Wausau or St. Matthew Catholic Church.
