Florence C. Thompson

Florence C. Thompson 95, formerly of 1315 Torney Avenue, Wausau, died Thursday November 28, 2002 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born July 18, 1907 in Wausau, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Gwidt) Klimek. On November 4, 1936 she married Lloyd Thompson in Wausau. He preceded her in death November 5, 1987. Florence enjoyed gardening, playing cards and cooking. Special to her was the time spent with her grandchildren. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Judy) Thompson, Madison, Gerald Thompson, Hartland, two daughters, Lois Koepke and Mary (Ken) Lawrence, all of Wausau, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Klimek, Bloomington, Minn. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Sylvester Klimek and a sister, Clara Schirpke. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 2, 2002 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Freinds may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Resurrection Parish.
