Florence Phillips

Florence Phillips 85, 111 Bellis St., Wausau, died Saturday February 9, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born February 27, 1916 in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of the late Jonas and Aleana (Vasileauskad) Maldonis. On October 29, 1940 she married John T. Phillips in Stetsonville. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1983. Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rib Mountain Silent Club and enjoyed sewing, writing letters and visiting with her many friends. Survivors include her children, Alice (Paul) Bohnert, Tomahawk, Salli (Charles) Howe, Wausau, Jamie (Lynn) Phillips, Marathon, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Helen (John) Strassburger, Curtis, four brothers, Walter Maldonis, Owen, John (Alvina) Maldonis, Dorchester, Joseph (June) Maldonis, Beloit, Alex (June) Butkus, Medford. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Logan Ellison. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday February 15, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
