Florence A. Marvin

Florence A. Marvin, 80, of Wausau, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at The Meadows of Marathon, under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born in Wausau on October 25, 1945, to the late Anthony Sr. and Isabelle (Zieglmeier) Marvin.

Florence attended St. Mary’s School and later graduated from Newman Catholic High School, both in Wausau. She also received a degree in bookkeeping from technical college. For 20 years, Florence worked at Marathon Electric in Wausau, followed by 22 years at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau, as parish secretary. She thought of her work at St. Anne’s as her “dream job.” Florence was a strong supporter of the Humane Society of Marathon County, and a passionate sports fan – she always cheered for her Brewers, Packers, and Badgers!

Survivors include: close friends, Dorothy “Dotty” Schumacher and Debbie Lemke, extended family, and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Sr. and Isabelle Marvin; brother, Anthony “Pudge” Marvin Jr.; and grandparents, Louis and Anna Zieglmeier.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 700 West Bridge Street, Wausau, with Rev. Tom Lindner presiding. Visitation will be at the same location and will begin at 9:00 a.m., June 17th, until the time of service. Lunch will follow. The burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
